Laavi gandha chandan tyala, mala disse sanvala re [Devotees] anoint Him with sandalpaste and fragrance [yet] He still appears dark-complexioned [infant]
Divya roopi manhe Krishna, mala disse sanvala re [Devotees] refer to Krishna's [face] as resplendent, yet He appears [before me] as dark-complexioned [infant]
Yashodecha baal, Nandkumar [The] darling of Yashoda and Nand?
Sant mhanati, to kareel paar Saints proclaim that He alone can rescue all of us
Kshani vishvaroopi disse, kshani disse sanvala re In an instant He appears as omnipotent, [then] in another instant He [re] appears dark-complexioned [infant]
Aisa kaisa vikram, maharathi thor [Is is not incredible that Krishna] is regarded [by all] as fierce and a great champion
Gokulache vaasi mhane, chanchal chor [Yet] natives of Gokula (Krishna's birthplace] call him a mischievous vagabond
Dhaak vahati tribhuvan, mala disse sanvala re He is honored in all three worlds (Heaven, Earth and the Netherworld) and [yet] to me He appears [but] as a dark-complexioned [infant]
