[The] wise ones say: forget this world

Hain juga mithya, bhaktibhav khara

This world is [but] a myth and true devotion is the [only] reality

Mee mhanato juga visurun kashala
|
[To you] I say: why [do you have to] forget the world

Vishaya visara, karun mana sthira
|
Relinquish greed and lust [and you will] achieve inner strength
|

Sant mhanati, guru jeevdhar
|
[The] wise ones say: [the] Guru (spiritual leader) is the giver of life and strength
|

Naanv ghya gurunchain, to karil paar
|
Keep repeating Guru's name and He will see you through [the ocean of] life
|

Mee mhanato guru dev nahin nar
|
[To you] I say: [take heed] Guru is [but] human
|
|
Dnyan ghya gurunchain, dev naam adhar
|
[Let him bestow unto you only his] knowledge and wisdom; [let] Your lips Chant [only] God's name
